Greetings and welcome to our newsletter about Felis Seminar Resort and what is coming up in the next few weeks.

Oktoberfest 2008
The Oktoberfest last night, October 17, 2008 was a terrific success. Over 300 people enjoyed the band, the singers, the dancers and the games. There were lots of prizes and singing. The large crowd had fun drinking and eating.

Halloween Party
The event will be held on October 31st at 6:00 pm. We are re creating a theme that will bring excitement to our guests. There will be live music, singing, dancing, prizes, treasure hunts, trick or treat games for the children and masquerade contest.

We will also choose the best costume from the attendees during the night.
So wear your best scariest costume and join our Halloween night.


Seminars
The 14th Year anniversary of TESDA was held last August 29-30, 2008 with 165 participants.

Also Mayor Elorde of Bunawan, Agusan Sur visited Felis during the LGU Bunawan Seminar held last Sept. 3-5, 2008.

Last Sept. 8-10 Mayor Romulo M. Tapgos was the guest speaker in LGU Arakan, Cotabato seminar regarding Budget Hearing of Annual Performance.

Christmas parties
We are currently accepting bookings for Christmas & Birthday Parties. We can design parties in either a package, or at a specific venue. We offer packages for mall employees, call centers employees and group parties.

You can have your Christmas party at the Windmill Bar.

This is ideal for a group of 10 to 15 people.

The Mountain View Pool (there are 2 areas to party in) is very popular.

A nice village setting is at the FD Square.

Then there is famous Kubo Huts located in Twin Peaks restaurant

and the Avenida Isabelita going through the Windmill Bar is now open for bring your own baon parties and overnight.

For the larger groups we accept catering services at our Entertainment Hall, or in one of our 8 air-con conference venues.

CREATING NEW AVENUES WITH MUSIC

A classical guitar concert entitled "Creating New Avenues with Music”, featuring The Abelardo Guitar Quartet from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Q.C., and guest performers from the Yamaha School of Music featuring Atty. Melissa Suarez and Group will be held on September 25 and 26 at the Redemptorist Church in Bajada at 7:00 pm and again on September 27 at Felis Resort Complex in Matina Aplaya at 7:00 in the evening.

This concert is a fund raising event for the projects of Msgr. Manny Cabajar,C.Ss.R,D.D.,Bishop of Pagadian. For the Bishop, realizing this project would mean having a new venue for promoting gospel friendship among people of goodwill, whether priests, religious and the laity. It would mean having a new space that is more adequate and more conducive to rest, relaxation and prayer not only for the faithful in the Diocese of Pagadian, particularly the priests and sisters who are assigned to far flung parishes and who would need some convenient space when they come to the city, but also for other guests and visitors travelling from distant places. Ours would be a new venue that we hope to be more conducive to spiritual and pastoral encounters of faith motivated persons.

Please, be counted among those who care and have decided to share some of their blessings from God. Know that this will go a long way in the promotion of gospel friendship especially among our clergy and the spirit of koinonia and solidarity among our people.

This concert is for the benefit of the formation center of the Diocese of Pagadian under the auspices of Bishop Cabajar who by the way also hails from Davao as a member of the Redemptorist community in Bajada.

A chore group of young artists and one of them Jen de Vera is a home-grown Davaoena, the daughter of the late Benjamin de Vera of Minsad and Dar and Betty de Vera who works for an NGO supporting the Indigenous people of Davao

SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY
Our recent exciting news was the surprise birthday party of our president Isabelita Domingo on July 8, 2008. The event was highlighted with the presentation of the employees choral and dance group, wine parade by the waiters, wine toasting for the celebrant, ballroom dancing by her daughter Josie, intermission number of Baron Barbers, guests singers and dancers. The guests enjoyed our delicious buffet meal. The feedback was superb.




PRISSAAP CONGRESS
The Primary & Secondary School Administrators Association of the Philippines had their national congress in our resort. We were very busy entertaining and serving our guests from all over the Philippines. There were guests coming from Luzon, NCR, Cebu, Iloilo, Zamboanga, Cotabato and Davao. The convention was held last August 6 - 9, 2008. The Felis Management surprised our guests by giving them a welcome program during their dinner. The guests were amazed and enjoyed themselves watching the Felis choir and dance group. One of their guest speakers is our CEO Mr. Severino M. Domingo who gave an exciting topic about Container Farming: A New Perspective to the Technology and Livelihood Education Program.


DA CONFERENCE
The Department of Agriculture held the Regional Consultative meeting on AFMA Review on August 21, 2008 in our entertainment hall at Felis Resort Complex. Two of their guests were Congressman Anton Lagdameo of COMVAL Province and Mr. Carlo Nograles, representing his father Hon. Speaker Prospero “Boy” Nograles.



Jenny de Vera’s Concert

The first Davaoeña to graduate from University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City with a degree of Bachelor of Music major in guitar Jenny de Vera performed a classical guitar recital – a tribute for a Father’s cause last August 23, 2008.

COMING EVENT:

The Abelardo Guitar Quartet, UP Conservatory of Music will be having a musical concert for a cause entitled “Creating New Avenues with Music” on September 25 & 26, 2008 at the Redemptorist Church, Bajada, Davao City and on September 27, 2008 at Felis Resort Complex, Shanghai, Matina Aplaya, Davao City. Ticket will be sold at P100 and P200 for Redemptorist venue and P500 for Felis venue. Tickets are available at Redemptorist Church and Felis Resort Complex reception counter.
The proceeds will be used for the long needed renovation of the Bishop’s House in the Diocese of Pagadian.
